About the Artist Arthur Metz

Arthur Metz (born in Lyon in 1988) works primarily on paper and wood. In paintings such as Die modernen Messen (Modern Trade Fairs), Sommer in Spanien (Summer in Spain), and Berliner U-Bahn (Berlin Underground), he combines observations of contemporary life with a light, graphic visual language. From 2017 to 2022, he studied in the class of Cordula Güdemann at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. He now lives and works in Alsace, France. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at galleries and museums in Germany, France, and Canada.
